Further information: A Personal Assistant is required for a 55 year old lady who resides in the Hessle area. She has a progressive neurological illness that will result in her health declining over time, but at the present time she has the ability to walk without aids and communicate verbally, but some support from the PA would be appreciated. The position requires a companion/friend to go out for walks, afternoon coffee, non-food shopping, friendly chats, along with any other ideas that may arise. The PA will need to have access to a car and a full valid driving licence in order to facilitate taking the lady out; travel expenses will be re-numerated at the appropriate rate. The lady has a number of interests including being a dog owner/lover, swimming, going to the gym, reading novels, cinema, conversation- although the PA will not have to participate in any physical gym activities.
The days, hours are flexible presently, but will be during the day on a Monday to Friday. This can be arranged on a flexible basis. There are some personal care requirements and therefore a female PA will be required. The hours requirement presently are 4 hours per week, but this will, in all likelihood, change in the next 12 to 18 months to 8 hours per week. Further Information: A PA is required to work with a teenage boy with special needs in Hull. Duties would include an initial period of building up a relationship in the family home by chatting to and interacting with the client. Once the client was comfortable, duties would include taking them out and about locally e.g. to the library, cinema, bowling, soft play, etc. The PA would be helping the client practice daily independent interactions e.g. paying for items, as well as encouraging positive interactions with others in general. We initially have some built up hours to work through, after which it would likely settle to it being a couple of days per week in the school holidays, or a half day per month. Experience or qualifications in autism or special needs an advantage but not essential. The PA should be calm, positive and committed. Further Information: A music loving, outgoing and highly motivated part-time FEMALE Personal Assistant is required to support a young disabled Woman who loves crafting and voluntary work, in the Leads Road area of the city. This lady has mobility issues and her needs can vary from day to day so her PA needs to be flexible. She will require support with personal care and all domestic tasks, as well as shopping, attending appointments, keeping the house clean, laundry etc. She may need support to get washed and dressed. She has problems with balance and will need help to wash her hair. She will need support with medication management as her medication has to be stored safely out of reach of her children. This lady also needs support with preparation of meals and drinks, and she sometimes needs support to use the toilet. She likes her own independence, so you will need to be sensitive to this issue, and wants to be as independent as she can in as many areas as possible, but when she does need support she needs to know her PA can be relied on. A car driver with access to their own vehicle would be preferred as this lady finds it very difficult to access public transport. Waking Night Intervenors (Support Workers) Pocklington, York
We are looking to recruit waking night intervenors to join our dedicated team in Pocklington, supporting our deafblind and physically disabled daughter, as she starts her journey into adulthood. A willingness to work some early evening/day time hours would be highly desirable to enable you to get to know the routines and to work with the rest of the team. The role of an intervenor is to support someone who is deafblind. Our daughter has complex physical, communication and learning needs. She may require assistance during the night and this could include personal care.
Your role will complement the Intervenor Team to ensure her daytime life runs smoothly. You will be working alongside another intervenor, one of you awake while the other sleeps.

Responsibilities may include:

• Health monitoring and administering medication
• Reassuring during times of pain and distress
• Personal care/bathing
• Following procedures and appropriate decision making
• Supporting bedtime routines and activities
• Understanding and embracing the role of intervenor
• Taking part in bespoke training and attend meetings
